Evo Bluestein

Evo Bluestein is an American folk musician, cultural historian, and multi-instrumentalist.

Raised in a household his folklorist father, Gene Bluestein, filled with the defining figures of American traditional music, Bluestein learned this music firsthand, at its primary source.

Evo has spent five decades in professional performance; he plays fourteen instruments and teaches twelve. He sings, clogs, and calls English country, contra, and square dances. His repertoire moves across the full arc of American traditional music.

His performing career has taken him across the United States and to China, Japan, Israel, England, Finland, France, and Germany. He’s hosted folk music programs on three Fresno radio stations and co-founded both the Fresno Folklore Society and the California Autoharp Gathering Festival. He is a published author on music and has developed multiple original autoharp designs.
